World Run Day Thanks to everyone who came out to help us celebrate World Run Day. From our Sunday run we raised $170 for Kidsport™ - a national children's charitable program that helps kids overcome the financial barriers preventing or limiting their participation in organized sport. We also collected a dozen pairs of sneakers. Thanks to Dianne Chiasson for organizing this event and to Brian Doiron for looking after the sneaker collection. HRC Steering Committee Interested in taking on a volunteer role with Halifax Running Club? We're always looking to get more members involved. To learn more about the club, how it's managed, who is on the current Board of Directors and the volunteer roles read our Club Governance document. And if you're interested in taking on a volunteer role or helping out with the club contact Dianne Chiasson. Cleaning up at HRC Just a reminder to all members to feel free to lend a hand for the clean up after the Sunday runs. We have a two-wave clean-up schedule to help ease the work that's left for anyone who stays behind to close up the club on Sundays. The first wave starts around 10:30 - when most runners are back from a run, already enjoyed their first bagel and are getting ready to leave for the day. The second wave of clean up will begin after 11 - allowing time for runners who are out for a long run to finish up and still enjoy a coffee and bagel. Since this is usually a smaller group, the clean up should be much easier. Instructions for clean up are posted in the kitchen. Thanks to everyone who have been helping to pitch in for the past few weeks. Club News & Reminders Want to catch up on the news. Sunday Runs Reminder: Just a friendly reminder that we welcome all runners to participate in our Java Blend after-run coffee and bagel socials on Sunday and to not forget about the Toonie Bin (which helps buy the bagels) and to help out with some of the clean up.
